I would prefer that the Germans are spead out in hidden, fixed positions with MGPs etc all ready and waiting, I wanna give the Allies a hard time at the start. The Dutch can do some recon if they like and discover positions, link up with Allies when they can and relay intel?

Not so worried about the position of German troops , more thinking that we will breif both sides at seperate places, and rather than have the allies walk down to an obvious starting point they are dropped on the DZ in packets . The german playes will not know if all the Allies are landing in one place for starters . The allies will have to get out of the van and deploy in much the same way as getting out of a glider.

Gadge has already laid out the routes for Allied deployment. The Axis won't be looking for the Allies so it doesn't matter exactly where the Allies land (but we have already agreed a drop zone), the Allies will be walking onto Axis positions.

it'd be fun though!

Much better than just having the allies walk to their start position...

If nothing else it means the allies won't get chance to see the germans!

They'll be in a transit and see nowt!

lol

Precisely, going on your comments after your walk round i dont *reallY* see where much has to change, i reckon it'll work as is

A route of march IMO is pretty good as it structures the game, is realistic and prevents some players tkaing the piss with ridiculously widerflanking manouvres to get behnd the enemy.

My biggest concern is stil lrunning up a few 'emergency' scenarios for both sides to break up any stalemates.

For examples if it becomes a two hur siege for the embasy we can force both sides to go for a second objective that HQ has just identified as bein urgent...

It just so happens its the same onjective for both -parties.

Anyway must go bed now its getting late.

I already discussed this with Guy...

That we wanted the allies to take the objectives at least for a very short time and that the germans should pull back and then counterattack if necessary...

He was happy with this.

I feel you're misunderstanding me it's only a lil suggestion .

All I'm saying is that rather than the Allies wallk to the DZ we've agreed, they are bussed down in "HorsaTransits" . Doors open , people run out to deploy. They would all deploy to the same agreed place within 5 minutes of each other.

Just thought it would be more fun than everyone walking down through the site, plus it means they will "appear" on the DZ as if by magic, rather than every German seeing where the Allies are walking down to . At the mo only us organisers know where the Allies will start, the Germans won't know , probably much like the morning of the real battle . The DRWS can be there to greet the landing if you like !

Better make sure the Transit is working then....

I suppose one drop could be somewhat off target (nowhere near the Germans) perhaps more across the airfield fence and have a bit of a kerfuffle to locate and get to the rally point (summoned by the hunting horn!!)

Yep, we were working out how to keep the game flowing in the first and seond halves. Keeping the Germans spaced out and pulling them back towards the ramp should keep the movement up. When you add in the Hotel and the artwork /gold bullion there will be pletny of activity for all . We also agreed we didn't want the Allies to get pinned on the landing field all morning , this should be easy to achieve.
Course once we've let you gain some ground, we'l do our damnedest to recover it , but then thats where the airsoft take over from reality .

Yes... this would work kinda like the start of the Black Hawk Down games I've been at where the US troops are bussed in to their start positions...

The game would only start proper once the Brits are in position.

The regen point markers (I suggest using the mortars and a flag) would be bussed in as well.
